On
the road again, heading further on down the coast to our staging
post for the night at Imi Ouaddar.
Our
journey took us through the argan forests where goats climb the trees
to eat the argan berries.
To
produce argan oil the goats play an important recycling role, their
digestive juices dissolve the outer husk and the nuts are then
recovered from their dung and lightly toasted and pulped. It takes
30kg of nuts to produce one litre of oil.
After
the argan forests, the road wound its way through the foothills of
the Atlas Mountains and finally to our destination, with today's
searing temps of 35 degrees, the hottest to date even the camels
found it too hot.
